Chinese New Year

We have learned so much about Chinese New Year and the Chinese culture this week.  We learned how to count in Chinese, tasted fortune cookies and chow mein noodles, practiced working with chopsticks, and wrote our names with Chinese letters.  Small groups of friends worked together to create wall tapestries.  2013 is the year of the snake.  We created snakes using long and short tubes.  We also measured 12 inches each to create a snake.  Our favorite project this week was creating Lucky- our class dragon!  We worked very hard cutting straight lines to create him.
