We love science!

Mrs. Kittrell found a cicada bug on the playground this week.  We took it to the classroom and placed it inside our bug tent.  Overnight, the cicada shed his skin!  Each child drew a picture and made a prediction about what happened to the bug.  Here are some of our predictions:

Mrs. Smith put on gloves and caught another bug.
The bug had a baby.
The bug transformed during the night.
The teachers caught another bug with a net.

We learned that cicadas have wings, eat sap from tall trees, and shed their skin.  We released the cicada on a tree and watched as it climbed to the top.

The cicada beside the skin.

Can you find the cicada on the tree?
